I’m not normal, I like continuity, so what?

From time to time I like to watch old episodes from Friends. Who doesn’t? The other day, in the season 7, episode 3, ‘the one with Phoebe’s cookies’, I noticed a wonderful hint in continuity. I give you some context: Monica wants as a present for her wedding Phoebe’s grandmother cookie recipe. However a fire destroyed Phoebe’s apartment. So, this is the dialogue:

Monica: What’s wrong Phoebe?

Phoebe: I just went to my old apartment to get you the cookie recipe and the stupid fire burned it up!

Monica: No!! Why didn’t you make a copy and keep it in a fireproof box and keep it at least a hundred yards from the original?!!

Phoebe: Because I’m normal!

Well, I guess I am not normal neither is Monica. Although I must admit the example it is a little bit too excessive, it is also a good example of what to do with vital records in case of fire. Monica, it is a good business continuity planner and very resilient without a doubt :-)
